At Unique Metal Gates we offer a range of very different gate designs. Each one is fabricated by hand to your requirements.
Made entirely from steel we don’t use plastic, composites, aluminium or powder coating. We do use heavy duty hinges and our own handmade latches and handles.
Most designs are available in both untreated steel or galvanised (more information on these below). Made to order in any size from narrow pedestrian gates up to driveway gates able to span up to six metres wide as a pair.

Our Product Range
Galvanised or Bare Steel?
The choice is more a personal aesthetic one but here is our take on it.
An untreated steel gate will arrive dark grey but over the next few months will weather to form its trademark soft brown tones. This look has become very popular over the past few years as weathered steel blends in beautifully with the natural landscape and provides a sense of maturity. We feel it is an ‘honest look’ an it is appreciating and accepting steel as it is in its natural state and is deservedly popular. One point to note however is that rust staining can occur under the gate itself. Over gravel or darker surfaces this is not obvious but if your gate will be hung over light coloured paving we would recommend you choose the galvanised finish.
A galvanised gate is hot dipped in molten zinc to give it a silver/grey finish and protects the steel from rusting for around 70 years. We apply an acid etching solution after the galvanising process to produce a matt finish which gives it a sleeker more contemporary look. Our unique designs, in particular the Garden gate, give a ‘frozen in time’ look when galvanised.
